                   Give Hope...Give Shoes...Give Love...

Did you know that there are over 300 million children and uncounted Adults without shoes around the world?

One of the number one ways for children to suffer from disease and parasitic infection is through cuts in the feet.

Many children do not have even one pair of shoes to wear to school.  Often shoes are a requirement.

Many children growing up in the impoverished areas (slums) and other communities simply cannot afford to purchase shoes for their families.

We have an opportunity to make a difference at a very basic level...by donating shoes and in kind donations to purchase shoes for children and orphans.  Help us to support children in need today.

The Peace Community Foundation is a not for profit 501 C3 organization that has provided basic needs, hygiene classes and first aid medical clinics to the children and their families living in the Indian Slums.  Since 2009 It has been a true blessing to serve these simple but, profoundly beautiful people with the Shanti Home Health clinics.

Now, in 2011 we are launching our Blessed Little Feet/Shoe clinics.  The Blessed Little Feet concept was born from an inspiration given from the Divine to Founder Jessica Unmaniji King.  One day while working in the slums with the children, Unmaniji began to see so many injuries on the feet of the children.

This sparked a deeper investigation into what could be done to work with helping the children to not have to suffer from so many diseases that enter the body through the feet.

So the inspiration continued as Unmaniji and her staff began to spring into action to support footwear to the children.

It started with measuring the feet of over 100 children to see what sizes of shoes would be necessary to begin the journey of having each child have a pair of shoes.

Then came the work of looking for shoes in the market place for the children...we knew that it would not be an easy job but, a necessary one.

The marketplace is vast and so many shoes, style, color etc...to choose from, What to do?

After many days of looking and investigating shoes and sizes.  Another beautiful inspiration came.

In India there is a basic shoe that all the people wear.  In the West it is called a flip flop or a thong sandal.  However, in India it is called a Chappal.

Then the idea was clear... the Inspiration for the Chappals Only Project/India was born.  We would go into the market with a new determination and a new focus.  Looking for good quality simple Chappals that would keep the children’s feet safe from the many injuries they suffered daily.  It would give them basic foot care and for many of them it would be their very first pair of shoes.

This turned out to be a most exciting and inspirational idea that mushroomed into a Footwear Project. This project will affect thousands if not millions of children and their families living in impoverished communities and ( Slums) in India.

Over 95% of the children had no shoes on their feet and the 5 % that had shoes half of them were sharing shoes with a family member.

So “ Chappals Only Project/India”... gave it’s first 100 pairs of Chappals to 80% children and 20% Women and Men.

Now we have a shoe goal this year of offering 10,000 Chappals to Men, Women, and Childern in India in 2011.  With your help and support we can reach this goal and make a difference to so many.

I know that something as simple, basic, and practical as shoes is a blessing to all involved.  The receiver is blessed by the support of footwear to protect the feet, and walk in the world in a different way.

The giver is blessed to be able to give the gift of groundedness, and connection to the earth in a new way to someone else.

As you can see everyone is touched and Blessed by this Idea that we call...Blessed Little Feet.  Thank you helping us to make such a simple but profound difference in the world.  Namaste’

Shoe Facts....

There are over 300 million children and unnumbered adults living in the world without shoes.

Shoes support and protect the feet from parasites and other diseases that would enter the body through cuts in the feet.

For about $1.00 US dollar per pair of shoes we can give the gift of protection and good health to another.

The feet are where energy enters the body...so with a simple sandal on the feet, it can help to energize the whole body.

Giving Shoes helps to support a new direction in ones life to a brighter tomorrow and new pathways in life.

Thank you for your support of the:
